Self Motivation: A 3 Step Persuasion Strategy For Writers

Have you ever had the situation where you are overwhelmed with the amount of work that you need to do? Perhaps you have a horde of research to get through or maybe you have so much writing that you don’t know where to begin. Using a few quick hypnotic persuasion tactics can change this and dramatically increase your motivation so you get things done instead feeling overwhelmed and procrastinating.

Self MotivationLearning a few hypnotic language patterns will help you to deal more effectively with a variety of persuasion circumstances and you can also use them on your inner voice to change the way you react to adverse situations.

These patterns are not necessarily about sending you into a hypnotic trance but just a way to move you from a negative position to a more useful frame. Let us look at a typical pattern and how you can quickly start using it to deal with an overwhelming amount of work.

It is important to acknowledge the problem and how you feel about it so the first part of this pattern is an agreement frame. What ever anyone says you can find something to agree with, even if what you are doing is just agreeing with the fact that they made the statement. This has the effect of disarming and opening people up to what you have to say. You can treat your inner voice as a separate person and speak to it in the same way.

A very important factor is using the word “and” to connect to the next part of the pattern. So this is as simple as “I acknowledge that (insert the thing you agree with) and”. Here are two examples:

  • I notice I am feeling completely overwhelmed with the amount I have got to do and …
  • I acknowledge that I am procrastinating, the deadline is looming and…

The second part of the pattern is to move you from negative thinking to a more productive frame. This is a simple formula that is easily stated as “the issue isn’t (x) but (y) where (x) is what they said and (y) is what you want them to talk about. Let’s look at a couple of examples:

  • The issue is not how much there is to do but how I can break it down into manageable chunks to get as much done as possible
  • The issue is not the deadline but getting focused on starting the first step

The last step is to get quickly back to thinking about solutions and taking action. This generally works best when you can turn it into an immediate task. The second and third steps are calculated to move you from a stuck position to movement. Here are some examples:

  • What is the most important thing I can get done right now?
  • What can I do right now that will make me feel like I have made a start?

This simple three step process can allow you to completely redirect the focus of your mind into a more productive channel. If you agree that this is a useful pattern to learn then the issue is not about knowing the pattern but how you can use it more naturally as well as learning the hundreds of other quick and easy hypnotic language patterns.
